The team is fully committed to giving your child the very best start to their time at Rackham. There are two reception classes in the Foundation stage at Rackham.

We believe in the magic of learning and the balance between teacher planned activities as well as child initiated learning.
We work hard to ensure all members of staff have the highest expectations about what children can achieve and make effective use of children's assessments, so we can plan precise activities that meet children's next steps in learning. We provide many opportunities for children to learn effectively in the well- resourced indoor and outdoor classrooms.
P.E lessons are on Thursdays.
Forest School sessions are on Wednesdays.

We have been using this website in class to recognise numerals and show how we can count accurately. Please have a go at home too!
We have been singing and performing Nursery Rhymes. Can you learn a rhyme at home and then perform it to your class? You could add actions or even use props.
Letter Sounds (British English)
Listen to the 42 letter sounds of Jolly Phonics, spoken in British English. Each letter sound is clearly spoken twice, before an example word is given. Perfect for parents, teachers and children who aren't sure how to pronounce the letter sounds.
